Nathan Fillion Finally Cast in the Uncharted Movie?

Rumors have surfaced this week about Nathan Fillion being cast in the leading role of Nathan Drake the “Uncharted” movie however we’re unable to confirm at this point in time if these rumors are true.

There has been much petitioning for Nathan Fillion in the role with many fans believing he has both the perfect appearance and personality but there have also been mentions of several different people being cast in the role (the most recent being Gerrard Butler) in that time so we’re taking this news with a grain of salt until we hear something official.

The rumor appears to have started on gamingsquid.com

In July last year Fillion spoke to Screenrant.com about the possibility of working on the movie.

“I am certainly still interested in playing Nathan Drake. I think every actor I know wants their action-adventure hero, their Indiana Jones. That would be a good one for me, I think. What I don’t want is people pressuring that poor man [director Neil Burger] and souring him on the actual idea. If we could somehow just… do you remember the movie Inception? I think that’s what we need to do. We need to let him land on the idea on his own.”

Fillion’s reaction comes after fans took things too far and literally harassed people involved with the film.

  1. It seems to me that Nathan Drake was *clearly* designed AFTER Nathan Fillion role of Malcolm Reynolds and only solid facts could convince me otherwise. They even hired the very SAME music composer for entire Uncharted series! I am not sure who is trying to kid who, but if Nathan is not Nathan (ha!), then I don’t know who is.
However, how cruel this might sound, Drake seems to be quite younger and, well, fit (to do the jumping, climbing and fighting).

  2. hi sir im from colorado and when i heard that their was going to be a uncharted movie i was exctatic im only 13 but i figured since the games were amazing the movie also would be to if you dont mind can i meat the guy playing drake this would be a great opportunity for me because it wll show me which way i want go in my life thanks alot your biggest fan of directing scincerley bobby howell

  3. I truly believe Nathan Fillion should play Drake on this movie, he’d be perfect for it,although I agree with Lymann Webster, Nathan F. has gained some weight recently, but if they cast him, I’m sure he’ll go on a diet, and everything would be perfect, so there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be working on the movie.

Personally, I believe that Mark Wahlberg should take a lead roll in the Uncharted Movie adaption of the interactive entertainment adaptation. First of all some comparisons of Drake to Wahlberg and Fillion- Drake has short black hair, so does Wahlberg. Drake looks in his late 20s to mid 30s- So does Fillion. But what decided the true decision was publicity and popularity. Wahlberg wins that with his recent performances in “ted” and “Contraband”.

  5. No Way!! Need a younger guy to play Drake. Chris Evans would be good because he could make you laugh like Drake does and still kick some butt. Its a really tough character to pull off being funny, action hero, and young.

  6. I think bradley cooper is the man for the role.

  7. Wahlberg, Evans, Cooper? It’s obvious none of you ever played Uncharted. There’s no doubt that no other actor matches up to the Drake character as perfectly as Fillion. As far as Fillion being “old or out of shape” to portray Drake. Its a freakin movie! he doesn’t really have to scale cliffs! You can get yourself in shape or look younger or they can just fake it, but you cant fake character.

actually you can fake character………its called acting lol, nah but ball busting aside i agree with you man, no-one and i mean no-one could play Drake like my main man Fillion he has the humor the look the style and the attitude, he is the living embodyment of Nate. But unfortunatly i dont see it happening, i do belive the film could work with Evans or Cooper but it wont be nearly as good as it could be if Fillion landed the role that he deserves.
